Welcome to Mrs. McCabe's Elementary School Counselor Blog
Hi everybody! This blog is dedicated to kids, parents, teachers, and community members. I will be using this blog to showcase what we are doing to promote good character at school, to provide information and support tools for parents and students, and to keep our community informed about the latest events and activities going on at school when it comes to the guidance department. Character Counts Week and Supporting our Soliders!!!
Character
Counts Citizenship Project
The Character Counts project we will participate in during
Character Counts week is, “Supplies and Snacks for Soldiers, Howard-Winneshiek
Cares”
Through this project the students
are asked to please bring in tasty snack foods and/or toiletries for our
soldiers overseas and residents of the Veterans homes located in Marshalltown
and Des Moines, Iowa. These items are to be dropped off at your local
elementary school Crestwood, Lime Springs, Elma. There will be a snack donation
box at each Elementary Howard-Winneshiek School building. The drop off date begins on October 22nd
and runs through October 26th.
The local VFW chapter in Cresco
will receive the snacks and toiletries that we have collected, and will sort
and mail them to our soldiers this year. Thank you VFW!!!!!!

PBIS ON THE BUS!
Parents, Students, and Teachers-
I found a great video made by teachers, bus drivers, and students that illustrates the importance of using Cadet Pride on the bus. These students are from a different school, but the Cadet Pride expectations we have a very similar to theirs! Watch and practice Cadet Pride on the bus!
